Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers is delighted to have provided structural and civil consulting engineering services on this project from concept through to construction.
This is a project with a number of challenges, a lot of which is evident from this footage.

➢ Heavily restricted site access
➢ Heritage listed structures taking up the entire street frontage of the only approach to the site.
➢ Heritage listed boundary walls on all sides.
➢ Neighbouring buildings on all sides.
➢ 5m deep excavation in close proximity to the boundaries and retained structures.
➢ High ground water table.
➢ 5m of made ground and soft clays.

Barrett Mahony’s extensive experience in dealing with these types of challenging projects, along with our longstanding working relationships with the relevant specialist sub-contractors, allowed us to develop a design which is technically compliant, buildable and commercially viable, with the tendered structural design brought forward to construction, almost entirely without modification.

This project has required a collaborative approach from all stakeholders and it has been a pleasure to be involved.
