Great to see this milestone at our 30 Marsh Wall project!
Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers have been responsible for the building's structural design, including the foundations and basement construction sequence. The foundation solution was developed as a pile-assisted raft using CFA piling, eliminating the need for deep bored piles and bentonite on site. This reduced the risk associated with piling deep into dense Thanet Sand and delivered significant programme and cost benefits compared to a traditional piled foundation.
We worked closely with A-squared Studio Engineers, Groundforce, OBR Construction Group and our client Tide to develop the construction sequence for the two-level basement on this highly constrained site in Canary Wharf, enabling the slipformed core to commence as early as possible following completion of the raft slab.
The basement was one of the most complex parts of the scheme, requiring significant coordination across the project team to successfully deliver this stage.

Looking forward to seeing the slipformed core and 48-storey RC frame take shape. https://lnkd.in/dPbZj8P8
