Inspiring Future Engineers - Engineers Ireland STEPS Programme

Last week, members of our team at Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers visited a number of local schools, both primary and secondary, as part of the Engineers Ireland #STEPS Programme.

Our engineers shared their own experiences of choosing engineering, the subjects that helped them get there, and what working in the profession looks like today.

The sessions also included an interactive bridge-building challenge, where students worked in teams to design and construct structures using simple materials — putting their problem-solving, creativity and teamwork skills to the test.

This visit forms part of a wider programme of school outreach by our team, supporting the STEPS initiative and helping to inspire the next generation of engineers.
