CPD Focus: Telephone House, Marlborough Street, Dublin 1

A big thanks to Stewart Construction for facilitating a CPD site visit today to the Telephone House development, by some of our Engineers and Technicians.

As an Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer, and as part of our IS0 9001 QA system, Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers conduct an extensive programme of internal and external CPD activities throughout the year, for all staff.

This design and build development consists of the refurbishment and change of use of the existing Telephone House, from office use to a 290-bed Aparthotel for Home2 Suites by Hilton. When completed the Aparthotel will span 10 floors over basement and will be the first of Hilton's Home2 Suites brand in Europe.

Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers were engaged to provide full structural and civil consultancy services at concept stage by JMK Group and have worked collaboratively with the dedicated and talented design and construction teams through planning, tender and now construction phases.

The structural works nearing completion, with the two-level steel frame vertical extension now erected.

This project is a wonderful example of collaboration across the full project team to bring a significant city centre building back to life and thereby provide significant embodied carbon savings when compared against demolition and new-build construction.
